Chapter 0: Dearly...
...Several years...before a great hero is born. There lives...a certain World. Within the Realm of Light...bordering shores...with the Realm of Darkness. Here...two souls...two Hearts meet. One possessing a "Moon"...and another a "Sun". This is their story...of how their "Union"...will forever change the dynamic of things. Namely...the flow of the universe...and it's residents.
Day 1: The Encounter...
"...Sigh...right, another day of hard work. Welp! better now dawdle, time...to get things done!" a young man could be seen, carrying a makeshift rucksack upon his back. Walking out of what looks like a small hut, the young man makes his way towards a nearby beach.
Meanwhile, a young woman could be seen at the aforementioned beach; holding a star shaped fruit of some kind. "Hmm...I've never seen this kind of fruit before. Strange...has no one...ever seen these things before until now? strange...hmm..." the woman did not notice herself repeating a few words, too engrossed by what she was holding...
"Today is gonna be Day 255, gotta make it count-! huh?" the young man had arrived at the beach, only to find the young woman there. "...Whose that? is she...from the mainland?" the man questioned if the woman was a native from the main island, or if she was simply a visitor from a neighbouring isle.
"...! Ah. H-H-Hi there!" the woman finally broke her concentration long enough to see the man observing her. "!? S-She's looking right this way. Best bet is to ignore her, wouldn't want her thinking I'm a creep or something..." the young man was concerned by the young woman waving at him, deciding it was safe to shy away from her...for the best interests of both.
"!? Oh no. Did I...make him hate me!? this is bad! I don't want someone from the main island thinking I'm a complete weirdo or something! right! time to act!" the young woman, refusing to let the young man leave her sight; took initiative of her own. Thinking and acting on instinct alone...the woman had made a drastic course of action, in order to regain the man's attention.
"H-H-HELP!" she shouted out, catching the young man's attention; as he was preparing to use a boat and head out to sea. "!? W-What the!?" he saw the young woman, having swam out into the furthest part of the ocean; becoming unable to maintain floating!
"H-HELP ME!" she shouts out again, beginning to sink like a rock! sparing no time for thought. The young man jumped into the sea, swimming over towards the young woman. "G-GEEZ! don't you know...you should NEVER swim out this far!?" the man takes hold of the woman, securing her safety.
She becomes slightly surprised, sensing a rather peculiar aura surrounding this person she has never met before. After being carried over towards his boat and coughing up the remaining water in her Body, the woman then speaks to the man. Answering his earlier chide of her actions, replying "S-Sorry...I...I didn't mean to go out that far into the water." states the young woman...
"...Sigh, look; I'm not mad or anything. Just...if you're an islander...you MUST know of how dangerous it is-about the surrounding waters here. Unless you can build yourself a sturdy raft that can endure anything...a person should NEVER venture any further beyond the point of the islands." says the young man, scratching the back of his head. Sharing quaint words of wisdom for his age...piquing the young woman's curiosity of him.
"...Have you ever done it? I-I mean. Build a raft...and head out, beyond the islands?" says the woman, wondering what the man whom saved her life would go about; answering her sudden question. "!? ...Are...are you kidding? me? head out to sea? nah. I couldn't...I would never...I mean. I love these isles...don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I'm not curious about the outside World, it's just...I find...that my place is here. Here, at the main island...this...is where my Heart is." says the young man...
"! Your...Heart?" says the young woman, surprised by the man's choice of words. "Hmm? oh, yeah. Don't you know the old saying? home...is where the Heart can be found. Wherever home is, however far away or close by; that...is where our Hearts can be found. It's our fate...our Hearts will always take each step closer towards being at home. In my case, I just prefer keeping my Heart closer to home; rather then further away...know what I mean?" the young man makes a nervous chuckle, slightly blushing at how the young woman might be interpreting his words.
"...Home...Heart...huh. I guess...I've never heard anyone say that expression around me before." says the young woman, tightening her arms around her legs. "...! Oh! that's right! please tell me. Are you...a fisherman? and, if so; tell me. Have you...ever seen this sea fruit before!?" suddenly, the young woman presents the star fruit that she found earlier after a moment of pondering silence.
"! E-Err...n-no, I haven't. I've...never seen this kind of fruit before. Maybe...it's a new kind of fruit? some cases like that actually happen. Evolution takes different courses, especially according to isle environments. The changes in weather patterns for example, among other things; can have an effect on the surroundings. That includes flora, fauna; and all kinds of things..." states the young man, sharing knowledge of what he knows.
"! O-Oh...okay...it's just. I thought, maybe...this fruit descended...from the sky." says the young woman, surprising the young man. "...Eh? EH!? the-the SKY!? fruit...from the sky!? t-that's. That's like...what's that old story? about a garden...and some magical fruit? ...ah geez! can't remember! d'oh!" the man racks his head, trying to recall the story he was thinking about.
This earns a small giggle from the woman, amused by what she considered the young man's sense of humour. Blushing again, the man looks away from the woman; unable to look her directly in the eyes. This causes her to wonder...if he was still shying away from her, just like before. Finally...the young man's boat returns by the side of the shoreline.
"...I'll...I'll be going now. Sorry...for causing you distress earlier!" the woman rushes to get off the boat, as soon as it reaches the shore. "! Ah! h-hey! wait!" Without warning, the young man grabs the young woman by her arm; shocking...the both of them. "!? S-SORRY! I didn't mean-look I-I am truly, deeply sorry for that! I just. I didn't...I didn't want you to leave like that, so suddenly..." states the man, letting go of the woman's hand; not wanting her to think that he was a ruffian...
"...To be honest, I...I...I had misled you earlier. I know...fully how to swim. So, that stunt from before...it...it was just to gain your attention! please...forgive me!" the young woman continues to run away, leaving the young man completely by himself at this point in time. Shocked by what she had just told him, left to ponder his thoughts...the man had next noticed something. It was...the star shaped fruit that the young woman was clutching...
"This...she..." the young man tightly held the fruit in his hand, wondering...if it could be taken as a sign somehow. A sign...that maybe...just maybe...both he and this mystery woman would meet again. If not at the beach, then at the main island? whichever road Destiny would take. One thing was sure...something...that the young man could affirm for himself. Both if, and when the time came that he and the young woman would hopefully meet again...he would return the star fruit.
This is the beginning...of the tale...between the moon...and the sun. Setting and rising, both back and forth; with no absolute end within sight. The story...of the great hero's heritage...was only JUST starting...
